蒂卡波（Tekapo）是南島中央的小鎮，座落在蒂卡波湖旁邊。除了擁有透著蒂芙尼藍的美麗湖景，還是舉世聞名的夢幻觀星小鎮，每一年都吸引許多旅客、觀星愛好者到訪。
Tekapo, a small town next to the famous, beautiful, tiffany blue Lake Tekapo. The town is also known for stargazing, and being one of IDA’s top International Dark Sky Reserves.

蒂卡波簡介 Get to Know about Tekapo

蒂卡波（Tekapo）位處紐西蘭南島中央，距離基督城（Christchurch）或皇后鎮（Queenstown）均約 3.5 小時車程，是往返基督城和皇后鎮之間必定會停留的小鎮。
Locating in the center of South Island, Tekapo is 3.5 hrs away from both Christchurch and Queenstown, and a top travel destination for those traveling between the two cities.

舉世聞名的璀璨星空 Sparkling Starry Sky

蒂卡波所在的麥肯齊地區於 2012 年被列為國際星空保護區，也是南半球範圍最大的星空保護區。
The area where Tekapo is located is called the Aoraki Mackenzie. This area was designated the International Dark Sky Reserve since 2012.

這其實有賴於當地居民從 1980 年代開始，努力減少不必要的燈光，包括把路燈的光源設計為非漫射光線、要求廣告牌需要在夜間關閉燈光等。除了減少光污染外，還能達致節能、保護生態等效果。
Outdoor lighting controls were first put into effect during 1980s. In addition to minimizing light pollution for stargazing, this also helps to conserve energy and protect wildlife.

當然，天氣和月光對於觀星還是有不小的影響，所以可能要多安排幾天在蒂卡波的停留時間，以免因天氣不佳而留下遺憾。
As stargazing can be badly affected by poor weather conditions, moonlight, etc., it time allows, KA would recommend to play more than 1 night in Tekapo.

蒂卡波必到 5 大景點 Top 5 Attractions in Tekapo

1) 善良牧羊人教堂 ￭ Church of the Good Shepherd

要數蒂卡波最具代表性的景點，肯定是善良牧羊人教堂（Church of the Good Shepherd）。
The Church of Good Shepherd is the most iconic attraction in Tekapo.

教堂於 1930 年代建成，是小鎮裏唯一的教堂，除了是居民們舉行宗教儀式的場所，也用來頌揚早期前來麥肯齊地區的拓荒者們。
Built in the 1930s, the Church of Good Shepherd is not only used for worship / celebrations — it is also used to recognize the trailblazers who first came to Aoraki Mackenzie.

教堂內部一般只供當地居民使用，並不對外開放。如果真的想要入內參觀的話，目前教堂有提供私人導覽。私人導覽需要提前一個禮拜預約，最低收費為 2 人 NZ$50，每增加 1 人則多加 NZ$20，有興趣的朋友可以直接跟教堂方面聯繫。
While the church is not opened to public, for those who really want to take a look of its interior, pre-arranged private tours are offered. Booking needs to be made 1 week prior to the visit, and is subject to NZ$50 minimum charge for up to 2 pax. NZ$20 will be charged for each additional visitor.

2) 約翰山天文台 ￭ Mt. John Observatory

約翰山天文台（Mt. John Observatory）是蒂卡波附近最高點之一，可以飽覽整個 Lake Tekapo 湛藍的湖景。白天的時候能遠眺透著蒂芙尼藍的湖水在陽光下閃閃生輝，而晚上的約翰山天文台是世界上其中一個最受歡迎的觀星地點（有關觀星導覽團的資訊，可以參考下面#3景點介紹）。
Located 300m above Lake Tekapo, Mt. John Observatory offers one of the best 360° view of the lake. During the day, “bling bling” tiffany blue reflected from Lake Tekapo is considered one of the best view in South Island, while at night the Observatory will become one of the most popular stargazing locations.

注意：登上約翰山天文台途中會經過收費站，每台車需要繳付 NZD$8 的過路費。而上山停車場空位有限，建議大家安排早點登山。另外要留意的是，為避免光害影響天文觀測，傍晚四點之後一律禁止自駕登山，只有觀星導覽團的巴士能夠上山哦！
Note：All vehicles will be charged NZD$8 at the toll gate on the way up to Mt. John Observatory. Please also note that the Observatory will be closed to public after 16:00 and only authorized stargazing tours will be admitted afterwards.

3) 觀星之旅 ￭ Stargazing

作為世界上其中一個最受歡迎、又最容易到達的觀星勝地，每年到蒂卡波觀星的群衆可以説是成千上萬。
Every year, thousands of visitors travel to Tekapo for stargazing.

在蒂卡波觀星，主要能分為免費和付費導覽團兩種。免費觀星以善良牧羊人教堂為中心，而收費導覽團一般以約翰山天文台為主，下面就讓 嘉仁 跟大家介紹一下分別吧。
While Mt. John Observatory is the top destination for stargazing, there are other options including the Church of Good Shepherd which is free for everyone. Please refer to below table to decide where you would like to go for the unique stargazing experience！

4) 蒂卡波溫泉 ￭ Tekapo Springs

蒂卡波溫泉（Tekapo Springs）位處於蒂卡波小鎮邊沿、約翰山的腳下，是集休閑和娛樂於一身的康樂中心。溫泉裏提供冷、熱水泳池、水療設施、桑拿室等，正好適合勞累了一整天，或是開了長途車的旅客放鬆身心。
Locating at the edge of the town, Tekapo Springs is one of the top tourism attractions with a perfect mix of relaxation and recreation. Pools, sauna, spa, stargazing, etc., Tekapo Springs offers different activities from winter to summer, during days and nights.

5) 魯冰花海 ￭ Lupins Flower-Sea

每逢春末夏初，紐西蘭南島總是能看到很多色彩斑斕的花，那就是魯冰花。
Every summer, during November / December, colorful lupin flowers can be found across the South Island.

雖然整個 Lake Tekapo 湖邊不少地方都能看到魯冰花，不過在開往 Mt. John Observatory 路上的這一處魯冰花海，特別讓人着迷。我們在路邊簡單停下車子，邊欣賞魯冰花海、邊見識紐西蘭的高大駿馬，這也是 Mt. John Observatory 之旅的路途上其中一個亮點。
While lupin flowers can be seen along the lakeside, there is this Lupins Flower-Sea on the way to Mt. John Observatory. For those who are going to the Observatory, it is definitely worth stopping by 10-15 mins for some nice pictures of the flowers and horses.
