蒂卡波（Tekapo）位處紐西蘭南島中央，距離基督城（Christchurch）或皇后鎮（Queenstown）均約 3.5 小時車程，不論你是順時針還是逆時針環島，它都是往返這兩大城市之間最完美的停留中繼站。。
Locating in the heart of South Island, Tekapo is roughly a 3.5-hr drive from both Christchurch and Queenstown, making it an essential stopover on any South Island road trip..

夢幻觀星小鎮 A Stargazing Paradise

蒂卡波所在的麥肯齊地區於 2012 年被列為國際星空保護區（International Dark Sky Reserve），也是南半球範圍最大的星空保護區。
The area where Tekapo is located is called the Aoraki Mackenzie. This area was designated the International Dark Sky Reserve since 2012.

這其實有賴於當地居民從 1980 年代開始，努力減少不必要的燈光，包括把路燈的光源設計為非漫射光線、要求廣告牌需要在夜間關閉燈光等。除了減少光污染外，還能達致節能、保護生態等效果。
Outdoor lighting controls were first put into effect during 1980s. In addition to minimizing light pollution for stargazing, this also helps to conserve energy and protect wildlife.

💡 嘉仁的小貼士 (KA’s Travel Tip):
觀星極度受天氣和月光（滿月前後幾天光芒太強）影響。如果時間充裕，建議在蒂卡波至少安排停留 2 個晚上，以免因一時的天氣不佳而留下遺憾！
Stargazing is highly dependent on weather and moonlight. To maximize your chances of a clear night, KA highly recommends staying at least 2 nights in Tekapo.

蒂卡波必到 5 大景點 Top 5 Attractions in Tekapo

1) 善良牧羊人教堂 ￭ Church of the Good Shepherd

要數蒂卡波最具代表性的地標，肯定是這座座落在湖畔的善良牧羊人教堂。教堂建於 1930 年代，以沉穩的石頭築成，不僅是當地居民的信仰中心，更是為了頌揚早期前來麥肯齊地區開墾的拓荒者。
Built in the 1930s, this iconic stone church stands beautifully against the lake background. It serves as a place of worship and a monument to the pioneers of the Mackenzie District.

教堂內部一般只供當地居民使用，並不對外開放。如果真的想要入內參觀的話，目前教堂有提供私人導覽。私人導覽需要提前一個禮拜預約，最低收費為 2 人 NZ$50，每增加 1 人則多加 NZ$20，有興趣的朋友可以直接跟教堂方面聯繫。
While the church is not opened to public, for those who really want to take a look of its interior, pre-arranged private tours are offered. Booking needs to be made 1 week prior to the visit, and is subject to NZ$50 minimum charge for up to 2 pax. NZ$20 will be charged for each additional visitor.

2) 約翰山天文台 ￭ Mt. John Observatory

約翰山天文台是蒂卡波附近的最高點，能提供 360度的無敵全景。白天時，你可以俯瞰整片透著蒂芙尼藍的湖水在陽光下閃閃生輝；到了夜晚，這裡則搖身一變成為全球最頂尖的專業觀星基地。
Perched 300m above the lake, Mt. John offers stunning 360-degree panoramic views. It’s a scenic lookout by day and a world-class astronomical research station by night.

🚗 自駕注意 (Important Driver Info):
過路費 (Toll Fee)︰登上約翰山途中會經過收費站，每台車需繳付 NZD $10 的道路維護費。
管制時間 (Gate Closure)︰為避免車燈光害影響夜間天文觀測，山路進入傍晚後一律禁止一般自駕車輛上山（冬季 16:00 關閉 / 夏季 17:00 關閉）。晚間只有報名官方觀星導覽團的接駁巴士才能上山哦！上山車位有限，白天建議提早前往。

5) 期間限定：魯冰花海 ￭ Lupins Flower Sea

每逢春末夏初（約 11 月至 12 月），紐西蘭南島的陸地上就會盛開色彩斑斕的魯冰花。雖然 Lake Tekapo 湖畔到處可見散落的花朵，但在開往 Mt. John Observatory 的路旁，有一處特別壯觀的魯冰花海。路邊安全停靠後，一邊欣賞粉紫交織的花海，一邊看著旁邊圍欄內紐西蘭高大的駿馬，絕對是這趟旅程的驚喜亮點。
From late November to December, vibrant lupins carpet the lakeside. A particularly magical photo spot can be found along the access road to Mt. John, where you can photograph the flower fields alongside local horses.
